Static swivelling lighting

This function, presented at the launch of the 207 (and a rare feature at this level in the range), enables the driver to more easily identify a pedestrian preparing to cross the road in towns or, on minor roads, a cyclist on the side of the road.

Two additional headlights, installed in the main headlights and shedding light at 30° toward the inside of the bend, come on independently of one another, on a computer order, to anticipate side lighting for an area ahead of the car.
This supplementary lighting is added to the main beam and dipped beam headlights when the steering wheel angle sensor records, depending on the vehicle speed, a value exceeding 50° or 25°.
Activation of the direction indicator trips the swivelling lighting, irrespective of the vehicle speed, whenever the steering wheel angle reaches 20°, which makes it possible to light the inside of the bend and the surrounds of intersections, even when the vehicle is halted at a stop sign.

So that the driver (and the pedestrians) may not be disturbed by a flashing light, the computer orders switching off when the steering wheel angle is in a range between 15° and 20°.
The low direction of the light beam avoids any dazzle.
